About Your Rug

Unpacking
The packing and shipping process can cause the rug's edges to crease and bend. Don’t worry, this is temporary. In order to flatten your rug, roll it in the opposite direction and keep it secure for 1 to 2 days. This should relax the edges of the rug. If that doesn’t work, moisten the curled edges with a wet sponge. The water will help relax the fibers in the curled areas, allowing them to lay flat.

Indoor/Outdoor PET
Cleaning
Vacuuming regularly will keep pet hair, dander and debris from embedding deep into the fibers of the rug. Set your suction to low, and avoid using the spin brush in your vacuum. We recommend vacuuming from various directions in order to capture the most debris possible.
Placement
Placing a rug on an uncured hardwood floor can cause damage. Make sure your hardwood has had time to finish and completely cure before placing a rug pad and rug onto it. Exposure to standing water for extended periods of time can cause major damage, even mold, and mildew. Placing in an area with direct sunlight can cause slight fading over time. When storing your rug, roll it. Do not fold.
Stain Removal
Remove spills quickly by blotting with a clean, undyed cloth. Absorb the liquid by pressing down firmly on the affected area until as much liquid as possible is absorbed. PET rugs can be rinsed with mild soap and an outdoor hose. For difficult stains, clean professionally.

Indoor Wool Rugs
Cleaning
Vacuuming regularly will keep debris from embedding deep into the rug's fibers. When vacuuming, set your suction to low and avoid using the spin brush, as it may damage the wool. We recommend vacuuming from various directions in order to capture the most debris possible.
Placement
If your wool rug is having a hard time laying flat after a few days, then steam or iron the edges on a low setting. To protect the rug, place a plain brown craft paper between the rug and the iron. Iron minimally, only in affected areas. Rotate/reposition your rug and rug pad every 3 to 6 months so that your rug wears evenly on all sides. The rug may fade over time with consistent exposure to direct sunlight.
Reminder: Handmade rugs naturally shed and lose fibers within the first 3 to 6 months of use. This effect will lessen over time. Clop loose ends with scissors. Do not pull the loose ends. -
Rug Pads
One key to maintaining your rug's vibrant color over the years is using a rug pad. A rug pad stops the transfer of color from your carpet to the floor; extending the lifespan of your rug. A rug pad also prevents your rug from slipping, keeping it securely in its original location.
